Laura Kriefman

Having recently graduated from Guildford School of Acting, Laura’s acting work includes: All Female parts in ‘Our War’ 2006; Beth in ‘Astronauts and Babies’ directed by Alex Fung (independent feature film); Miss Thomas in ‘The Wrong Flowers’, directed by Nicola Williams (Picture this Moving Images 2001. WINNER Best Short Film: Picture This International Disability Festival 2002 Canada, Best International Film: Kynnskino Film Festival, Helsinki); voice over work; and toured with The Netherlands National Circus, Circus of the Streets, and Gifford’s Circus.

Laura also has a great passion for directing, and dressmaking and subsequently has directed ‘Ghetto’ by Joshua Sobol at the GSA Conservatoire, and assistant directed ‘The Coming of Gowf and Other Golfing Tales’ by P.G Wodehouse at the Gilded Balloon, Edinburgh 2005 directed by Ken McClymont and ‘Under Milk Wood’ at the Mill Studio directed by Adam Forde. Her dressmaking has spread into theatre design through being Wardrobe Mistress for ‘Sideshow’ at the Yvonne Arnaud Theatre, a freelance wardrobe assistant, and realising and creating the costumes for the dance piece ‘The Silence Of Becket’s Women’ at the Laban Centre. Currently she is designing and making the costumes for Janus Theatre Company's ‘Saucy Jack and the Space Vixens’ at the Brighton Fringe Festival.

Laura had the opportunity to write the book and lyrics for 'Deep Blue Something' five years ago as a collaboration with the professional musician Robin Davies. It was performed in 2001 and was a great success. Laura has tried to continue developing her writing alongside her work in other areas of the arts.
